In a significant advancement for municipal infrastructure renewal, a project team has successfully completed the installation of approximately one kilometer of DN2000 UV-cured CIPP (Cured-In-Place Pipe) liner in August 2025.

This ambitious undertaking involved rehabilitating a critical main sewer trunk line using state-of-the-art trenchless UV CIPP technology. The DN2000 specification denotes a massive 2000mm diameter pipe, making this a large-scale and complex engineering achievement.

The UV CIPP method is a highly efficient and environmentally friendly rehabilitation technique. It involves inserting a resin-saturated fiberglass liner into the existing host pipe and curing it into a strong, durable "pipe-within-a-pipe" using ultraviolet light. This method minimizes surface disruption, traffic closures, and excavation, leading to a faster project completion with a significantly reduced environmental footprint compared to traditional pipe replacement.

The successful completion of this one-kilometer section marks a key milestone for the City's Long-Term Infrastructure Plan. It ensures the long-term structural integrity and performance of the pipeline, enhancing service reliability for years to come.
